4 QUESTIONS TO ASSESS YOUR LEVEL OF LEADERSHIP

4 QUESTIONS TO ASSESS YOUR LEVEL OF LEADERSHIP

Leadership has nothing to do with your status, position or income. It starts with you first and is all about leading life from your essence and purpose.

Leading from a place of emotional intelligence and intuition. Only then, you will be successful and fulfilled in all areas of life. Only then, you can lead others and your business (results) to accelerate to heights beyond their imagination.

To become aware of where you are and what to work on when it comes to leadership, these questions can be a great starting point;

1: Do I have a clear vision?

The amount of clarity you have around your purpose in life impacts your reality. How well-lit is your purpose, your bigger WHY?

2: Am I in touch with my intuition?

We are living in a VUCA world, volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. Our logical mind is too slow when it comes to decision making, one of the master skills of great leaders.

3: What is the level of my self-awareness?

Research shows that when it comes to leadership, emotional intelligence is the key ingredient. With self-awareness, you understand your own emotions and their impact on you, your team- and company’s performance. You know what you are feeling and why—and how it helps or limits what you are want to do. You sense how others see you and your self-image reflects that larger reality. You have an accurate sense of your strengths and limitations, which gives you a realistic self-confidence. It also gives you clarity on your values and purpose, so you can be more decisive.

4: Do I have empathy?

Empathy has always been a critical skill for leaders and it is taking on a new level of meaning and priority. Far from a soft approach it can drive significant business results.

New research demonstrates its importance for everything from innovation to inclusivity, to retention. Great leadership requires a fine mix of all kinds of skills to create the conditions for engagement, happiness and performance, and empathy tops the list of great leadership.

What is different between empathy and compassion I get asked all the time. The difference is that with empathy, we join the suffering of others who suffer and stop short of actually helping. With compassion, we take a step away from the emotion of empathy and ask ourselves 'how can we help?

Gift yourself the gift of assessing where you are when it comes to leadership. And if you want to improve yourself, find the right person or training to guide you. Always here to support when you want it!
