THE MIND AND BODY CONNECTION PART 1
To inspire and motivate you to be happy in life, I‘ll share some insights in the coming weeks on how the body and mind are interconnected. And, what you can do create the right balance to increase your overall wellbeing.
Buddha stated it so beautiful in many different ways! And nowadays it is even scientifically proven; If you constantly think negative, self-destructive thoughts, your body will follow. You might feel it through for example headaches, tight shoulders, and a sore upper or lower back. It can also lead to unhealthy weight gain or loss, insomnia, and high blood pressure.
On the other hand, you can make a conscious effort to be aware of your thoughts and think more positively. If you are in control of your thoughts and are able to de-label or change negative ones into positive ones you yourself can develop a healthy coping mechanism for life’s stresses.
How you yourself can do this? “Whether you believe you can or can’t control your thoughts, you’re absolutely right”. Believe you can and you can. The unconscious mind helps you to create empowering new patterns if you consciously repeat a belief as if it is true now. So for example to repeat the belief "I am in control of my thoughts" for at least 21 to 30 days, will really help you to be in control of your thoughts. This is called neuroplasticity on which I will elaborate more in another blog.
Over time, the state of our emotional and mental health can increase the body’s immune system and our overall wellbeing. So choose your thoughts well and your body will follow.
